Countdown to the 2011 event:
News Updates:
|
This fun-filled ski event is held annually on a Saturday in late February or early March. This year (2010) it was February 27th. Teams representing companies and industries competed and had fun at Windsor Park Nordic Centre after a few free training sessions.

This year we recognized our founder Chris McCubbins who became ill before the 2009 event and sadly passed away in the summer. We will miss him and want to carry on with his work with the Inner City Ski Program.
The corporate teams of five enter with a donation of $600 and receive free lessons, rentals, Windsor Park trail access and a great day of skiing followed by lunch and extras.
If your office or business would like to put a corporate team together for next ski season, it is not too early to get started. Please contact us at the CCSAM. We'd love to have your group on board(s).
The 2010 ski season has had a slow start for skiing in Manitoba, so now that the snow has arrived, we're all keen to fit in as much as possible at Windsor Park Nordic Centre.
Support the Great Get Off Your Butt and Ski program for inner city kids. Make a financial or equipment donation. Please make cheques payable to Cross Country Ski Association of Manitoba and send to: GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND SKI EVENT, c/o CCSAM, 200 Main St, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4M2.
Carrying on with a success! The fun continues. If you want to look back at some previous years, see the previous event results.

For 2011, the Cross Country Ski Association of Manitoba once again challenges your company to get off your butts and ski this winter by forming a charity team. This year, our eigth annual event will be held on Saturday February 26th 2011.
The events over the past years have been a huge success. Congratulations to the corporate teams who participated in the event and we look forward to seeing all of you and many more back again!
One thing for sure in Winnipeg is winter. And we're going to make sure we enjoy it. All 4 or 5 months of it. We hope to attract new people to the sport and activity of skiing with each year's event.
Our first two years were at The Forks. Since 2005 we've moved to the city's premier ski facility, Windsor Park Nordic Centre. Rental equipment, grooming and overall logistics are much easier at Windsor. And it is a place you can return to over and over for reliable cross country ski experiences.
Remember, this is not all about a race. It is an opportunity to start or restart your love of cross country skiing in our fine city. There were plenty of volunteers (the people with the orange toques!) to give out tipsto anyone who needed a bit of help.
